Oregon K-12 Online Forum

I have been having interesting discussions with others relating to the use of online forums. My focus has been trying to find, or promote, the creation of a single sign-on, online forum to discuss a variety of educational and technology topics with other Oregon educators and technology support staff. While this site and the ORVSD site both have excellant discussion groups for their topics, I believe the educational community could benefit from the online discussions on many other topics of interest. Is anyone aware of the existance of such an online forum? Does anyone else agree that this could be a valuable communication tool for the Oregon educational community and its partners?

As the person responsible for the technology, I am here to make tools that you all will find valuable and actually use. With that in mind, I have been trying to build tools that are functional and easy to use. But (there's always a "but" in there), I'm not "you all" and I'm not an educator. So I can build things I think would work well for you.

What I need from everyone out there is feedback. Tell me what works. What doesn't work. What you like. What you dislike. These resources and tools are a first attept at giving you something useful. Tell us how useful it is and how if it could be made more useful.

We would like very much to provide a home for a forum like Greg describes. Who do you all think it should be done? How can we with the OVSD project help facilitate and foster the community?
