Oregon Awarded $4.7M from Federal Government to Support Oregon DATA Project

Below is the Press Release issued by ODE regarding the Federal announcement of IES awards.

This award was earned for Oregon through an application prepared collaboratively by members of the Data Quality Group.

Project development, management, and execution will continue to be a joint collaboration between ODE, EESC, ESDs, K12, and Higher Ed.

As Project Plan documentation is finalized, it will be posted here for review.

Integrating 21st Century Skills into K12

The National Ed Computing Conference this year offered numerous, excellent opportunities to tap into the message and substance of information and instructional technology efforts across the country.

Among many other resources showcased and discussed, the(fairly new) Partnership for 21st Century Skills offered some great insights and in-roads into the path for integrating critical skills into core K12 content.

A number of requests have come in to see the applications that were successful this round. There are terrific innovations and solutions presented in these documents. Please take a close look to see how similarly-situated schools and districts (to yours) are solving some of their connectivity issues.

Congratulations to the winning applicants. We will keep the field posted about if/when we may be able to open another round of grants!
