E-BITS is targeted at increasing broadband connectivity between Oregon’s ESD and the schools they serve. E-BITS offers the opportunity for the Education Enterprise to integrate secure voice, video and data services over Broadband Ethernet at low cost. E-BITS would use existing fiber and T-1 infrastructure, and, Cisco secure network hardware bundles for routing, switching and wireless connectivity on school campuses.

BROADBAND would be a distance sensitive Ethernet service over existing fiber and copper infrastructure. E-BITS could deliver up to 30mb of Broadband Ethernet for a discounted price. The E-BITS service would not offer additional Internet Transit bandwidth at this time (Final vendor, pricing and services determined through an open RFP Process).

TRANSPORT SERVICES are customized to customer specifications. EBITS would be a transport service allowing ESD’s and schools to operate network services at the basic price E-BITS would continue to place the control of network services in the hands technology professionals in our ESD’s and local School Districts.
