Technology

The Education Enterprise Partnership, through its Steering Committee and Technology Director, is working to improve communication across the K-20 enterprise on critical issues in education technology. In addition, priorities set by stakeholders across the state are helping to inform and direct Partnership efforts to set a vision and programmatic path to prepare our students with 21st Century skills.

Partnership coordination and collaboration between Technology and School Improvement is focusing on development of statewide, programmatic support to dramatically improve districts' ability to collect and analyze meaningful data in order to improve teaching and learning.

OVSD

The Oregon Virtual School District is a program led by the Oregon Department of Education in cooperation with ESD’s, School Districts, Higher Education and Distance Learning Providers throughout the state. OVSD seeks to increase access and availability of online learning and teaching resources to Oregon students and educators.

KIDS Project

KIDS Phase II

KIDS ProjectKIDS Project The purposes of the Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 16 (PK-16) Integrated Data System (KIDS) project are to develop comprehensive data systems encompassing the entire Oregon Education System. Throughout Oregon there are a significant number of data centers serving School and Education Service Districts, ranging from custom packages installed in only one district to systems serving dozens of districts. These systems are not well connected or on the same platform, making meaningful district to district and district to state reporting difficult and costly. The KIDS Phase II project will enable a timely exchange of comparable information about the enterprise of education in Oregon. A comprehensive data system will allow accountability requirements to be addressed at all levels, including local, intermediate, state and federal. E-BITS

At a time when education needs the commitment of Private Partners to realize the learning goals for our students, the K-12 Enterprise seeks a new set of network transport services and products tailored to the needs of schools at affordable prices. http://rfp.hdesd.org/

State-wide RFP for Media Streaming

Several Oregon ESDs are working together on an RFP for media streaming. We're hoping that by working together we can get a better solution for all Oregon students at a better price than going it alone. We've scheduled a meeting for Dec. 19, 2007 to discuss the needs of different regions and have a draft document posted and shared through Google Docs so interested ESD members can share their ideas. See the info below. I'm also setting up a listserv to facilitate discussions. I'll post more info on that later.
